A resident of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem for more than 25 years, Kathy Lichtendahl has spent much of that time hiking, backpacking and skiing the area. She now works as a professional conservation photographer covering the wildlife and landscapes of the western United States and beyond. As the owner of Light in the Valley, LLC., Kathy teaches photo workshops as well as creating images and articles for a variety of on-line and print media.

Kathy and her husband Ken purchased their current home in Clark, Wyoming in 1994. Situated on the front range of the Beartooth Mountains, the property serves as the perfect base for their many outdoor pursuits.

In 2011 Kathy decided to pursue an associate’s degree in Photographic Communications from Northwest College in nearby Powell. After graduating in 2013 she became a partner in Open Range Images Gallery in Cody, Wyoming and began having her work published in a wide variety of outlets.
